Jewelers Loupe – Why Get One?

There are many reasons to get a jewelers loupe and you do not have to be a jeweler to use one. Suppose you have some old jewelry and All Of Us would like to know what it was made from. Is it real gold? Are those real diamonds? Is this ring really platinum? A loupe will help end users answer those questions but those are not the only reasons you should get a loupe.

I got my first one because I enjoy metal detecting. I found quite a few coins that were old but I did not know if they were worthwhile. By Using a loupe, I was able to magnify the surface of the coins. This helped me see the date clearly. I can also easily see the mintmarks and any other identifying marks that told me what some of these older coins might be. I also started to find jewelry. By Using a loupe, I was able to determine if the ring I just found was gold or junk.

For me it was a no brainer. Jewelers loupes are relatively inexpensive and for me that was a key selling point. I had no problem spending between $10.00 and $20.00, to help me identify old coins and jewelry. It literally paid for itself by helping me identify a 14 karat gold ring.

There are several other great uses for a loupe. end users can use one for photography, looking closely at old comic books, baseball cards and even paper money. There was even one instance when I use my loupe to help remove a small piece of glass that was stuck in my finger.
